Lokman with some of the bus operators.

Kota Kinabalu City Hall (KKCH) is urged to give official approval of a special compartment for buses as promised to bus operators in Inanam town to enable them to have no problem dealing with parking lot operators in the area concerned.

President of the Sabah Bumiputera Bus Operators Association (PPBBS), Lokman Sunggim, said that although KKCH officials had assured operators were on the preparation of such a special place, but they have not received any official approval until now.

He said, this had resulted the bus operators still have problems with not getting full cooperation from the operating company parking lots there.

"I think this needs to be resolved quickly and KKCH must be consistent with its decision to provide a special lots to the operators involved as they were promised," he said after meeting with them recently..

Lokman said, he understood Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir had in principle agreed to provide a special place that has been requested by the operators since long time ago.

"We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to the Mayor on his concern and hoped the problem would be solved in a short time," he said.

Lokman, who is also Upko Beaufort Division Vice Chief and the Barisan Nasional Beaufort Division Committe member, said, KKCH should not to delay dealing with the problem as Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will visit the town at the end of this month.

He said, the problem without special places for buses that faced by operators were so long and it is time a solution is taken seriously.

"We understand the difficulties faced by the operators and it should not be left alone by the parties concerned as this could affect the government's image," he said.
